Father, we depend on You

Giver of life, joy, hope, peace, wisdom, courage, strength and salvation

Only You, gracious God, can restore the damage and mend what is broken

Where would we be without you? And when You seem distant, we pray more

By our fault, oh undeserving sinners, the children You created and adore

Look to our faith and small sacrifices; we can never do enough

But for His goodness that we depend on to make us right

Our reason to strive at pleasing You, oh Master, and guiding light

Oppression, suppression, and obsession are rampant these days

Evil feels cornered, and so it is a daily challenge for most of us

Look around, what’s happening, but at the same time, many of the youth are coming around

There is only one way to the Father; let’s be heaven-bound

Going to church for daily strength helps a great deal

When in His strong presence in mass, nothing is ever more real

And those bittersweet moments when we cry out to God

Bringing us closer to Him is a must in a world where it is difficult to trust

Free us from the chains that bind us to uncertainty and fear

We beseech Your wisdom to prosper and make everything clear

Oh sweet Jesus, so loving and dear, thank You for Your mercy

Take this contrite heart, intertwine Yours with mine

That I may love what is holy, do what is sacred, shielded by His words divine

Numerous situations beyond our control, thank God there is You

Most High, Jesus, without You, life has no meaning

Our everything: our joy, peace, hope, and inspiration since the beginning
