The last days require penance, prayer, and heroic sacrifice or virtue
This shouldn’t be limited to challenging times but throughout existence
At Church the priest spoke of biblical heroes; a spiritual leader
Who would return to a city of danger to face torture and death
Rebuke evil, stand for truth, do and fight for what’s right despite difficulty or consequences
Sad to leave his beloved people yet faith so strong eager to fulfill God’s will
That may be difficult for us yet we are still called to be heroes
Even in the smallest of ways, it must still matter to God
Take on any opportunity that a sacrifice represents and make Him proud
For He appreciates all that we do good as in parenting, the greatest reward
But what of personal sacrifice beyond what is expected?
To include sacrificing for righteousness as God said
To wake up despite feeling tired or sick even if we could sleep in
So we get things done as we should not commit failure to do; resist any sin
It is to revisit the past which we most likely don’t want, for the sake of others
It is to place others before ourselves even if we lose, for the love of God
And to forgive without an apology those who did us great wrong
To give, comfort, console, and love rather than receive, uplift the weak to be strong
Few are expected to make it to Heaven as it’s a narrow road
It is to do what most won’t, we tend to yield to the flesh when it needs to be the spirit
Satan suggests God will understand the easier and more desirable choice
Of Course, God gets it and is merciful but then we are stagnant and don’t grow
If we settle for average will God’s graces and blessings then overflow?
what lessons yet to learn to get where we should, we’ll never know
Just that we must be saints and they were willing and did anything for God
Heroic sacrifice is what God gifted us by way of His Son
Be of good cheer, we have the now, His work is in process, and we are not done
Much love and God bless,
