To God all the glory

This morning the priest spoke of Saint Stephen the first martyr (Acts 7:55-56)

He spoke of how we will be hated for our knowledge (Matthew 10:22)

Persecuted for our faith as it is around the world and our people (Matthew 5:10, John 15:19-20)

That as God’s disciples we will be judged and misunderstood (Matthew 7:1-2)

Not popular but dearly loved and cared for by God (1 Peter 5:7)

He said in this world, there will be troubles but I will rescue you from them all (Psalm 34:17-19)

Satan even uses our loved ones knowing that it hurts the most (Matthew 10:36)

He spoke of children against parents and spouses at odds (Luke 12:53)

The trials of the righteous are many but He will take on the fight (Psalm 34:19)

Consider Job, salvation awaits those who endure till the end (Matthew 24:13)

Oh, but for those of us who can relate in today’s mass be glad (Matthew 5:1-12a)

As it means we are His own, His disciples, chosen, children of God (John 1:12)

And for that it is worth it, yet there is also His grace ( 1 Peter 2:9)

Blessings beyond what we ask for and expect (Ephesians 3:20)

To His love and mercy miracles which can’t be explained (Job 5:9)

Nothing better than having Almighty Holy God on our side (Psalm 118:6)

His will is perfect and it will be done among those who abide (Romans 12:2, 1 John)

Crosses heal and open better doors for those who love Him (Isaiah 22:22)

So gracious that for the lost and blind, trials still sanctify (Acts 26:18)

No sheep left behind, for this He was willing to die (Luke 15:4-7)

He knew us before we were made, as the apple of His eye (Jeremiah 1:5)

In gratitude, paying it forward; respect is to let no sin slide by (Luke 7:36-50, John 3:16)

Our fortress, refuge and rest in all we go through (Psalm 46:1)

It’s all or nothing as we desire for our children for their good (2 Corinthians 12:14)

But to God all the glory, the reason we live in peace and joy as we should (Luke 2:14)
