#MercifulPouringGrace
It happens to us all, even saints suffered from pride. Pride is anytime we think we know better than God. We often forget to involve God and take matters into our own hands. Pride is destructive and it divides. If we only knew how many different ways we exercise pride. When we don’t adhere to God’s word, it’s pride and we serve the enemy who thrives on it. Anytime we break any of the 10 commandments, like when we deny our mistakes, claiming we can do no wrong, when God said not to lie, it’s pride. Every time we argue with or don’t believe our spouse and loved ones, it’s pride, for God clearly said that love means believe all things. When we don’t listen to our spouse, we disagree with God who said listen to your spouse. When we excuse, explain or justify a behavior for which we are sorry for, we are prideful, because God said be humble and self-preservation is putting ourselves first, not last. When we get angry, we forget that God said be slow to anger. If we don’t forgive, we ignore that God said have mercy as I have for you. God said expose Evil and have nothing to do with it. We think we know better and can outsmart evil, or justify it by handing out Bible verses or dressing up as saints and angels, unknowingly playing along and not exposing the evil, as we do on Halloween. When we take our blessings for granted, we aren’t grateful and don’t put God first, it’s pride thinking we deserve it and don’t realize how easily we can lose it all.
When we demonstrate a skewed view of things that foment hatred and division as in CRT, we go against God who said blessed are the peacemakers. When we give in to fear, as we did with the masks and covid pandemic, we don’t trust God who said have courage, I am with you. If we choose not to endure, embrace the cross, complain, and try to handle things ourselves, we think we are more capable than God. When we are not kind to each other and charitable, we think we are better than listening to God who said love one another and treat each other as you would like them to do for yourself. When we don’t abide by God’s conditions for living, we are allowing pride to minimize the sacrifice God made to save our souls. We must prioritize God in everything we do. Think and act only in ways that are pleasing to him. Follow his every word and live by it, if we are to avoid pride. Pride is Satan’s tool to separate us from God and goes against love. God is love, and resisting pride is a way to show him our love who is all good and deserving of it. Loving God is our very purpose for living. 11/08/21 #Godisthecure #InspiredByTheHolyGhost #Godisgood
