His Face

Oh my God, all good and worthy who always gladdens the broken heart

All I desire is the wisdom to know His will and to effectively do my part

How beautiful Your mercy and might, how You take on every fight

Cleanse our soul and open our eyes to a steadfast spirit within (Psalm 51)

Unafraid You saved us in our times of darkness surrounded by His Angels (Psalm 46)

So we depart from evil, and You guide us to Your holy path

We trust You, oh Lord, the Most High, no one more perfect or divine

Should we suffer to prosper, it is well with me, for You provide and shine

Praise on our lips in the valley and mountain, the God we adore

Providence so fitting that when we see its purpose, we thirst for more

“Nothing greater achieved without enduring much,” Saint Catherine of Sienna

Please renew and soften the hearts of those who have strayed away

Keep us a willing servant of His love and peace; we humbly pray

Declaring His strength, His help, and our dependence on You

That You will safeguard us from being destroyed, equipped by His armor

All You have said and commandments so our joy is complete (Gospel Jn 15:9-11)

As Your children whose lives You build, we reap one hundredfold

Show us how to love You better every breath we take in His precious name

To live for You in Your ways, changed by His Spirit and His mind the same

Oh God how we love You, our deliverer and savior; victory is in You

Nothing can separate us from Your love and grace (Romans 8:31-39)

Oh God of the impossible, take hold of Your chosen, moved by His face
