Motherhood is an amazing blessing like no other
To participate with God in the miracle of creating a new life is breathtaking
And so when that little soul encounters the light, takes the first breath
The greatest joy felt by everyone who gets to experience such an event
Love was instrumental in bringing Him into the world and so are all of we
It’s the unfailing, unconditional bliss of pressing a child to our heart
The greatest responsibility whether it be mom or dad, both play a crucial role
Children grow up best in the sweet loving arms of a two-parent household
Mom shapes the child and dad inspires among other gifts God gives
For which I believe Christ gave up His Mother at the cross
Our Divine blessed Mother lost a Son but gained every child of God
The Father, the just and mighty One knew we also needed a sweet Mother
One to cradle us in her arms and advocate on our behalf
Even though as our creator, He is both Father and mother
But when Christ said they had enough wine, His mother was the softer side
And if we would be intimidated by the fear of God, Mother eases the way
A humbling experience, when it comes to the innocent there’s no room for pride
That is what makes motherhood special, we are the icing on the cake
Selflessness is most concrete when a child comes into play
What Father doesn’t fall deeper in love when his wife becomes a mother
To see the struggles and share the joys, of what every day brings a smile
We have the keys to their hearts, make it count, it’s only for a while
Then there’s the single mother whom God reveres as He steps in for the father
Or the single father who through love realized himself also a mother
No greater grace to be granted an Angel walking here on earth for however long
That we are entrusted with His most precious of whom we belong
