We are the temple of God and so are our bodies (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)
Because we are one body united with Christ and He dwells within (Ephesians 4:4)
Do not harm includes ourselves and we do not neglect our needs
Furthermore, God says to discipline our bodies in Corinthians 9:24-27
In 1 Timothy 4:8, “physical training is good, more so exercising Godliness
Many are the virtues we know of but exercise may be overlooked
It is one of those things that are difficult and undesirable
As are most things that we do for God, stepping out of our comfort zone
Don’t give in to the negativity, just do it, don’t think twice
More cumbersome is thinking about it and not a big deal once it’s done
Exercise strengthens our immune system and speeds up metabolism
and it has healing properties. I tend to get more sick when I give into it
When I ignore not feeling well, push through and stay active
or exercise, low and behold, I stop being sick, at least much faster
I guess Satan stops when it doesn’t work. Resist and the devil will flee (James 4:1)
Everything good that we do that is hard helps us move forward
If we discipline the body, the mind will follow since it’s connected
If it seems troublesome or we are discouraged it can be offered up as a sacrifice
Even the small things such as getting up early when not needed to
Just so we can get more done and optimize our God-given blessed day
When we take care of ourselves we are doing for others
As a parent, our kids need us to be healthy so we are a good example
Looking out for our health can be a family affair and quality time
God who is love, wants us to prosper in every way
Bettering oneself starts with just one person and we have more to give
To honor the temple of God, body and soul is how we best live
Much love and God bless,
